I like that AIR VIP - it's been on my "list" for awhile. But was able to cross another thing off that list today..

Hung my summer wheels over them, too. Can't wait for April!

I took a couple quick pictures of my new MINI today since I've already upgraded a few things in the 2 weeks I've owned it...

So far:
NM RS Alpha Springs
Hotchkiss 22.5 rear swaybar
D1 Spec
Michelin X-Ice II tires until Spring gets here.
John Cooper Works grill
GP shift boot and ****
I also ordered Toyo T1R tires to install when the weather warms up.

Future Mods:
NM Engineering Engine Torque Arm Mount Insert
DDMworks Cooper Intake
Driving lights
Stripes! (already have these in a box—just waiting on the install)

You don't waste any time, do you? Nice mods, too.

D1 Spec
I see you have the D1 Spec 7 Drive. How do you have it hooked-up (through the OBD), and where did you order it? Thanks!

i guess i'll post pics here even though they're not on the car yet... prepping the car for competition in SOLO HS, so the mods are here accordingly. Hoping to install everything within a few weeks, still waiting on the dampers to be custom valved:

I actually bought it at Greasy's in person and they installed it. I can see if it's in the OBD port tomorrow. I have to say it's amazing.

Yesterday I had some custom stripes (satin black with red accent stripes on the outside) installed by Jeremy at Out of Line Design—really excited about these! Today I swapped out my stock side scuttles for the Gen2 Aero version w/ the clear lenses... much better!

You're throwing it all at that Cooper. I like it.

Would love to have more info on that Magnaflow - sounds like you're deleting the resonator? And the cat?

Seems like I'm looking and thinking about an exhaust all the time, but I haven't been able to find Magnaflow for a non-S.

For *****$ and giggles I e-mailed Akropovic to see if they had any plans for a non-S exhaust. Here's their response:

"...Unfortunately, Akrapovic only focuses their products on the premium models within a brand. Ie: the JCW Minis, the M cars from BMW and the RS cars from Audi. Im sorry for the inconvenience."

M cars and RS cars - together I guess they would be MRS cars. Meh.

Yes catless but right now I am running the stock cooper res and muffler. When the magnaflow goes on I will mate it with some piece of a cooper s exhaust I got from work, probably just the resonator section to calm down the beast of a sound I have now. And I have really been throwing everything I can at Sherlock I work for mini and see the same stuff everyday. I like being outside the box, not normal like my gm would say. Next is coilovers as I think I blew one of my jcw struts, Tampa Florida roads are very harsh. Lol

And for akrapovic, Id laugh in there face, saying my buddy isn't "premium" haha. I wish I could get some scorpion exhaust pieces in the states for reasonable pricing.

Not to flood this thread, but I thought I'd also share my new suspension set up:

http://r56hs.com/2014/03/29/fat-cat-...pension-is-in/

Handling Impressions: I think “WOW” pretty much sums it up. After a year of more or less fighting the old 08 Mini’s (stock sport suspension) understeer, this is a huge surprise. This car is very very neutral. I should probably add an asterisk here, my impressions stem from one (so far) autox event on a cold day, albeit with a codriver and tire warmers. Anyway, I think it is neutral enough that I can play with tire pressures to get the car to basically the same level as it was today. There is a hint of understeer when I overcook things, and a little more than a hint of oversteer when I lift throttle or I’m being too jerky with the steering wheel. I used to have to use some pretty violent inputs to get even a neutral balance out of the old MINI, so this is going to take some seat time to get used to. Fortunately enough, seat time is one thing I will have a lot of for this year. Overall, the car feels very good, and very planted. It just feels well sorted out, and I think the JCW FSB + JCW Springs + Fat Cat Motorsports Bilsteins + Hsport RSB is the best combination for HS. Seriously. In addition to FCM’s custom valving, my Bilsteinsn also came with his proprietary Kerb Blow Off (KBO) technology – AKA a proprietary technique to high speed compression blow off. All in all, I wouldn’t change anything about this set up (except if I could somehow increase the front camber).

Finally got the MINI a good wash after putting the summer wheels back on.

Winter projects - I wanted the calipers black since you can see right through these Enkei Imola's. Went with a set of Wilwoods for the front. Love them and boy do they stop!

Rear calipers black - happy with how they melt right in and I no longer have to look at dirty, grimy calipers. Also blacked out the side markers...
