Engine, intake Borla exaust and MTH Tuner file.
Suspension,Bridgestone tyres,TSW rotors and Porterfield street pads(great pads),IE adj camber plates(they jingle on rough road but do the job),Koni FSD's on stock springs(perfect for me),full set Powerflex bushes,H-Sport 19mm sway bar(silent) and H-Sport control arms(silent) and a good alighnment.
Engine mods did very little other than sound, tuner file gives it better response but little in the way of power.
Suspension mods just made the car woah fun!!! to drive. When i track it, it now needs a racing seat, cant seem to keep my butt in one place.Balance of the car is spot on
As many of you on here know alot more than me,i have a Helix stage one clutch and a Clutchmasters aluminium flywheel, and wondering about that flywheel if it will deminish the driveability in everyday use,the setup is really nice as it is and would be grateful if there's any feedback on the flywheel change, there's the option of resurfacing the old one.Happy New Year

The engine will stall much easier with the lightweight flywheel on, but it will only take you a few days to get used to it.

Of course, I did forget to mention the possibility of doing headwork. You could have your head Ported & Polished, upgrade to larger valves, upgrade your camshaft, and then have your ECU tuned/re-mapped. Then you could add the intake, header, and catback but even after all that, you will probably only see 30-40 bhp at best. However, I think I am crazy enough to do it! It will cost about $4k for that though which essentially is $100 per 1 HP.

Like the others have said. Not alot of GO FAST HP in a MC.. Weight and Handling is where it is at for us.. I do have a custom tune and though I only picked up 7 HP and Foot Pounds in total, there were some areas in the torque curve that I picked up 15 ft pounds.. which made a BIG difference since I only have 113 total now..

There you go.. as time has pasted, and the parts are becoming more available. The MINI ( r50) has a lot more options in this area and are seeing fantastic results!! More than just a few ponies....

Honestly, for the cost of doing all these mods. You might as well just take the money you'd spend on a new head, tune, exhaust, Ect; and trade up to the MCS. I used to hate hearing that because I loved my Cooper. But after driving hte MCS for awhile I loved it. Then I got the Gti and loved it even more. Once you have a Forced induced car you'll never want to go back to comparable N/A engine car.

113 at the wheels is pretty good for justacooper. I am at 106, and I have a few plans, but I must agree with Ftrem that I would buy a MCS before I do a head swap and all. Besides, if you do all the bigger hp mods to a MC you pretty much have to do a 6 speed swap too. The stock MC tranny can't handle $ h i t. So I plan to do a header, and then just power refinement mods like bushings and engine damper.
I am only focusing more on power now because I already have all my suspension stuff figured out which should come first.

I was at 106 before my tune. I'm most likely not going to do any more HP mods but ya never know. I know it would be easier to trade for a "S" car but down the road as much money as I have tied up in my Cooper already I might would do a cam, and or some other motor mods since I have my car looking and handling the way I want it and if I traded up then I'd be wanting to do all that to the next one as well, even more money, then the extra to trade up..

So I understand somewhat when people with a Cooper want to get more power just know there is not alot to get without SPENDING!!!

Way/DDM intake, Megan racing exhaust, and an engine damper all from Way. Did these make a HP difference, maybe, but the throttle response is much better. The little bugger will never be fast in a straight line, but on club runs in the twisties, the S owners are always amazed at how hard they have to work to keep up with him. Running light weight 15" hollies and the OEM sport suspension now, but hopefully this spring some suspension mods and a tune.
