For a few months now, I've been trying to hunt down a 3 spoke CVT steering wheel that can use paddle shifters. No luck and I'm close to giving up.

I did get a hold of a 3 spoke steering wheel without the paddle shifters.
Does anyone know if its possible to program out the paddle shifters in the computer? MINI tells me no.. If I don't then the computer will spit out a fault.

It's gotta be possible right?
I mean, I've seen automatics that don't have the steering wheel shifters.

 

Try the wheel without the shifters, car should work fine.

 

I was under the impression that the CVT did not come with paddle shifters. What year MC?

EDIT-After a quick search I see that it was an option since 03. Also found some old info on motoringfile about a retrofit kit.

 

MC never came with paddle shifters from what I know it was only the automatic transmission on the S model that came with that option.

However when typing this I remember something about the Canadian market maybe having paddles for CVT's?!?

 

Man you guys really know your stuff. It is a Canadian Model 2004 Mini Cooper R50.
The CVT steering wheel I can use should be available up to early 2006 models.
It could be donated from an S aswell.
