I'm looking for "the best" muffler for the r50 mini cooper, and i'm not really a mini guru lol.

I also heard borla's a good company too, which muffler should i get for my r50?

Welcome to NAM.

In regards to the exhaust its all up to personal preferences. I have the Magnaflow exhaust as you posted and personally I am extremely pleased with it. Pretty sure HemiHeaded18 on here has the Borla and he loves it. I've been told that the Borla has a more "english" tone and the Magnaflow is more "ricey".

If you are after for the best muffler in regards to performance, they are all very similar. They don't give much of a way in power gains, but its just the sound.

Sure do! Sound is a subjective thing. One person's ricey sound may be nice to another. I grew up in a die hard V8 house so I'm super picky on sound. I knew, in my eyes, it's not going to be cheap to make a 4 banger sound good. Hell, my dad grew up all V8's and he likes the sound of my car so something must be good about it. Here's a couple YT vids. Mine sounds kinda like what it does in the video but (to me) sounds a bit better in person.
Borla:

Then, I almost went with the MyMINI Touring exhaust here as I actually like the sound of it more in the video:

In the end, I went with what was more readily available and carried a more well known brand name which as you see, was the Borla.

Personally, we favor the Magnaflow for it's sound and light weight... We've run the Magnaflow and the Borla though, and both are good choices. The Borla is a bit more mellow than the Magnaflow, but IMHO, the Magnaflow just sounds "right". I get lots and lots of compliments on the car's tone from those I pass on the track and those standing in the pits when autocrossing!

We carry both...

megan

I have the megan racing muffler and love it. I actually am recording 5 mpg better which I was nicely surprised by. I also have a noticeable horse power to the wheels increase, I have a hard time not squeaking my tires on the take off and second gear. I use to have to try to do that, now I have to try not to. The sound is great also, nice low with a sweet burble. I was at an event with a few MINIs with the JCW exhaust on "S" models and mine sounded the same and I was able to keep up with them off the line. Search for videos there is at least one and it is pretty accurate with the sound.
