Hey there,

I have a question about cooper intakes, I noticed where they are located is kind of close to where the grill opening is located. I was curious has anyone had any problems of water injestion or could it be a problem?

Cheers

Vik

Welcome to MCO Vik

I do know of a Cooper that went through a big puddle and seized the engine. Don't know if it was the intake that did it in, though.

My current setup is a Viper Intake hooked up to the hood pulling air from a hood scoop.

I have no problems running my car through a car wash with the jets blowing water right into the scoop. You know the new brushless a some of the Shells.

I would be worried if I had a paper or cotton filter.

The air scoop is connected via a cloth-like hose to the resonator box, and the air box is connected to the resonator box. It's a pretty convoluted path of travel, I suspect any water would lay at the bottom of the resonator, if it got in there at all.

With an aftermarket intake which bypasses the resonator via a tube such as the Green Filter Twister or Viper, not as sure. I suppose if you aimed a hose at the scoop and tried to fill it, you might have a problem. But in normal driving conditions, should be fine.

Thank you very Much for the welcome and thank you for the information

Next question is what's the best intake for the price out there? I am a university student so money is not as free flowing as I'd like it to be
