TEIN H Tech

Hello. Has anyone installed these springs on a Mini Cooper (non S)? I know that they will fit, but i am worried about the ride height. I am interesting in getting these springs, cuz they lower only 13mm front/11mm rear, and seem to have good spring rates, but they are listed as a Cooper S part. Anyone that has them installed? Pics maybe?
What about the S techs?
Waiting for your help and advice. By the way, i have a 2002 Cooper, with the sway bar links attached on the shock body, not on the lower spring seat!

Any Cooper/Cooper S springs will work, the difference is that the Cooper S springs are a bit stiffer in the front to compensate fro the extra weight of the supercharger and it's componants. It's such a slight difference, you wont even notice. I had a set of Esplier springs on my 03 Cooper for 3 years, they where ment for a MCS.

I don't have any expericence with the Tein Springs so I can't really help you there.

Those springs should work. Unless you plan on swapping out your dampers at the same time you'll be reinstalling your stock dampers with the TEIN springs on them, so sway bar mounting points won't affect anything. Check the spring rates on those springs, make sure they're not going to be too stiff for you. I have TEIN coilovers on my car and I like them a lot. They are SUPER stiff however, and if the car were my daily driver I don't know that I could deal with it. I imagine with such a small drop (13mm, 11mm) the spring rates aren't going to be anything near what they are for the coilovers. As far as quality is concerned, TEIN is top notch stuff.

I have checked the spring rates, they are good, 207lbs front and 224 rear! I know they will fit, but will they give me the 16/13mm lower front/rear or not because they are for a Cooper S which is heavier? That is my main concern!

I doubt there is enough of a weight difference between a standard Cooper and an MCS to affect anything. Those spring rates tell me that you'll probably have good ride quality too. I say go for it

Does anyone know if these are linear or progressive? I wouldn't be really interested in a progressive spring!

I had the H-Techs on my MCS, they felt stiffer than the published rates, it seemed like I never hit the bump stops; the springs are linear wound.

H Tech is the linear spring and the S-tech (popular amongst Honda folk for a lower ride on a tight budget) are progressive.

Perosnally, I have never liked the way Tein stuff rides. H&R and TSW would be the only springs I would look at for the mini.
