I thought only '02 wasn't supported. try emailing them - nice people and quick to reply.

I bought both my kits at the same time and had to file for my '06 Coupe as well. In particular, it's the bracket for the front of the damper and how it goes up and over the rib on the cast engine cradle

Hmm... I have an early TSW damper (practically the first batch) and it installed on my 06 Cooper cabrio with no problem. I had some NVH issues that was helped by this mod: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...79#post1060079 (post #534)

sorry, im in a pot stirring mood this morning....

anyway, on to the topic. I have a custom made motor mount, not an add on, but same differnece. It is an amazing piece of equipment to have, would highly recomend a damper, or at least the powerplex engine bushings, they are really nice as well. Shifting is way better, especially at high rpms. Handeling, i dont really think so, but still a very worth while mod anyway. Our cars buck alot due to engine movement, its really nice to get rid of it. Yes, i have a cooper, if you didnt figure that out already.

I have the TSW engine damper on my '05 manny tranny Cooper (btw, it's a 'damper,' not 'dampener' - it does nothing to wet the engine).

Installation was quite simple. It does a noticeable job of reducing bucking. I have not experienced any more vibration, etc than before the install. I like that the damper is up top in this design for the reasons of ease of installation and removal as previously mentioned, and for bling.

BTW, I don't believe that a damper would be worth it for an auto tranny car, but that's just my own opinion.

I was going by the one term that I have seen car and moto mags use, as a convention.

hahaha. You might be surprised about the straight aways. hahah. Alls i know is that i have GPS data saying my stock motored and at the time almost stock suspenioned cooper was only 11 km (maybe 8mph) slower on the straight than a JCW car with OBX header and well built suspenion. That car in particular is driven by one of the best drivers in the area, he wins bmwcca every year, and usually has ftd, or top 3 at least at which ever autox he chooses to go to, so hes compitant, and so am i. You guys may have more horse, but it might not be as easy as you think. I would also like to point out that my front control arm was falling off when the gps was done, so my times were off. Once i fixed that at the track, the two of us were out, and we were both in the same position on every lap, as the last, indicating we were turning in very similar times. So, i wouldnt dismiss a cooper quite that quickly

i guess my mood wasnt regulated to effecting my posting exclusive to the other day

I would never dismiss a Cooper, you were the one that thru the first dis . Like you said they are awesome auto- X cars, but get them on a long track, and I don't think so.

At a track day at Portland International Raceway (the one pictured below) I was hitting 102 and 104 on the back and front straights respectively, the Cooper S that was driven by a friend of mine who may be one the best drivers I know, was hitting 115 on both straights. I wouldn't call that blowing by. Plus with the extra speed you need to brake sooner, justacooper can really take advantage of braking late. On that same day, I was hassling an M3 so much in the corners; the corner flagger’s gave me the pass flag just so that I would get to enjoy the turns more. Oh yeah, I only have an Alta drop in hi-flow filter as a "power" mod.

Does any one think that the engine damper will have any ill effects to the Midlands transmission?

Who was the other driver?

My last track day I was able to hit 120 before turn 1.

I would guess that the damper would probably not affect the tranny at all. What it may do is allow you to actually become a smoother driver because you will be able to feel the shifts better. Thus not subjecting the tranny to any extra abuse.

So what track days are you hoping to do next summer?
