Rhino Coating Your Interior

has anyone use the product Rhino (same stuff they use in Jeeps and Truck Beds).....to coat the interior for sound deadining, if so any comparison to Dinomate and also what are your opinions on it?......from what i was told, this is one of the best things you can do to help silence the beast.....

I think I've heard of it being used under the car for sound proofing , but not inside. I don't see why it wouldn't work inside though. Probably wouldn't want it visible in any way.

Anything that you do to add mass to the interior panels will help with sound deadening. There are quite a few spray-on sound dampening products on the market, but there's no reason why you couldn't use Rhino Liner or Line-X for the same thing.

I don't know how long it would take for the smell to dissipate from the inside of the car, though.

I was thinking about doing that to my classic mini. If you do go through with it let me know how it works out.

it would increase the weight of the car, that stuff is heavy. I always wanted to do the whole outside of a car so I wouldn;t have to worry about scratches or dents. Way way expensive for that and most likely ugly.

I really like a product called Edead V3, as it's paint on, and pretty dang effective for sound dampening without too much weight... I use that, and a heavier product, called Raammat, which is similiar to dynamat, but better and also half the price, with regards to competition audio and show cars...

EDead V3 is pretty light and surprisingly effective for a paint on application....

Raammat is a really good sound-deadoner for floors/trunks/audio, but is pretty heavy in the long run...

Sorry... I just sold that car to pursue a Classic Mini...

I never took pics of the deadoning, as it wasn't really "Appealing" to look at for sure

We did a Line-X spray on liner on the bottom and top of the floors, inner fenders, engine compartment, and trunk of 33 EJB. Check out "The 1963 1275cc Project" thread on MetroplexMini.org, Its under the MetroplexMini News sub catagory.

Wow... that is pretty clean... gotta cost a fortune though... :(

I'm looking at the herculiner stuff for my underbody and interior floor/trunk, as it's covered by carpet/mats anyways and doesn't neccesarily have to be "Super Thick" or "Super Resilient" I just love the idea of rust prevention and road noise blocking and easy cleaning. I also wonder what the Line-X weighs???

I can do thinner coats of Herculiner and am concerned about a ton of weight from Line-X everywhere????

I'm more just cheap... Herculiner everywhere I want = 150 tops

Line-X = Probably around 500+

I know it's a bit of a comprimise in product quality and durability, but my interior and trunk don't get nearly the brutality and weather a truck bed would.

I guess we'll find out when I do it.
