Hey guys.. I've seen a few rolling shells that are about 1-2k but they are way too far away from me and I don't feel like investing a lot in transporting something that barely walks. I'm in New England and am looking for a Classic Mini to restore. I'd like it to be a low budget project, but the motor can be completely out of commission, and the transmission if need be. The only qualifications I really want are that the body is not rusted through in major areas... such as large holes in the floor and or frame itself. I'm not the greatest welder in the world and can definitely redo an engine bay and the like, just don't want to have to re-engineer the entire body. I heard there are a few rolling around even the Connecticut area where I'm from, but can't find them. If anyone has a Classic Mini that's just not in good shape but runs, or doesn't run and isn't like I said, and wants to at least make some money back on their investment, reply here! I want to watch your post...I'm in western Mass and am thinking of the same thing. I am not as "handy" as you however judging by your post, but am intersested in the reponses you get.
