a/c in a classic mini?

hi all, im a real nubie here, and to minis. i have several books on the way and have read the mini boards for hours. still, i havent ran into much on a/c with the minis.

i beleive they did put a/c in some classic minis, but i cant seem to spot one! has anyone looked into puting an aftermarket a/c in their mini like vintage air?

Im in love with these little classics, but sence i live in south texas, a/c isnt somthing that is just nice to have. its required if you are going to drive much.

thanks for any input.

ps. anyone know of some mini owners in the san antonio area? id love to talk with some people and see some minis.

I have A/C, and many others who live in the south have it, it just makes things easier, and drier in the summer months, you can search A/C in this section, or here is a thread on it, factory and aftermarket,
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ighlight=a%2Fc
And also you can search the MiniMania forum, but here is a thread on the subject, some don't think it's needed, but they live up north, I love it,

As for where the Texans are you can ask around here,

or here at the south Texas Mini Club forum,

Minis of Texas

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/MOT/

For information on MOT: we are a free (no dues) group of Mini/MINI enthusiasts throughout Texas (and areas beyond). We have no formal rules/bylaws, no formal meetings, no officers. We are mostly a social group that takes part in a variety of regional car shows and drives.

Our website is: www.miniownersoftexas.com There is a members list on the website. The website is maintained by donations maintained under a dedicated account by the webmaster and email list moderator (John Leiberman). We have a rather active bunch in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
We use an email list on yahoogroups as our communication method rather than a chatroom or message forum. To join you need to join yahoogroups (free), then find our header under there and submit a "request to join" to our moderator (also referred to as our "defacto president" - John Leiberman)

You'll find they frequent www.minimania.com message board.

Once I get my classic running again an AC is on my list of things to do. I am going to look into both Mini AC units as well as looking into Hot Rod company junk and see what I prefer to do.

Let me know what you come up with as I have a bit before I can look for one.
