Hello

Well, here is my first post....

I am interested (very much so actually) in getting a Classic Mini Cooper. (The new mini is just so danged huge!) I have seen (actually been to the facilities of Go Mini, nice guys) all about the engine swaps and the air conditioning being put in and what not. But, how much power can you get from a "stock" motor with some modding? I know the VW air cooled engines can see upwards of 200 hp.

Also, is there a rear wheel conversion you could do on a mini? Of course AWD would kick *** as well.

Anyway,

Thanks

Ain't gonna happen with an A series or w/o the tranny grenading

If your pockets are deep enough you can make anything work. For front engine conversion do a VTEC or Suzuki twin cam, for RWD see about the Hayabusa kit at Z-cars UK. http://www.zcars.org.uk/mini/index.htm

you can see 200 hp from an a series but it isn't gonna be reliable. think i saw one recently on TMF with 224 bhp.

you will need to uprate the box to sccr's tho for that power.

remember you dont need loads of power in a mini cos its that light. eg 90bhp is about 150 bhp per ton.
