Need help with new seats

Hello, I have a 77 Clubman and a question. First of let me start off with: I am a college kid on a college kid’s budget….IE –Nothing. I need new upholstery for my baby. I have maybe $400 to spend and the cheapest quote is $735. I have been looking at the Cobra Classic Bucket seat.

This are listed at $209 per… but eBay has used ones for slightly less…

This would leave the back seat the same for six months till I could save up some more cash.

Has anyone gone to a different seat? How hard is the fabrication for the mount? I do not race.. I can barely keep it running In a perfect world these or ones like it would bolt onto the seat mounts already there.

If you think the reforming with new foam / upholstering for $735 is the way to go…please let me know. Thoughts and suggestions please!!!

I have those cobras

there is a mount kit for them. Then it is a simple bolt in job. I have the original back seat....recovered but nothing different....and a safety devices cage.

http://minispares.com/Product.aspx?pid=37876 this is the least expensive mount - it does not 'lock down'. There are others. I'm not sure if the Cobras will just bolt to the original mount....mine came with them already installed. Question would be: do the e-bay seats come with the mount?

(I tried to post a pic...again.....but can't resize it. but there are a couple in my gallery. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...00&ppuser=3049)

Screamer,

Go to www.greatbritishcars.com. They sell seat mount brackets that I believe will adapt to the seat you're looking at.

Aren't you in Arlington Texas? If you are several of the Mini Owners of Texas members recently had several sets of seats they were wanting to sell or get rid of. You might also want to visit www.minimania.com and ask there if anyone has a nice set of seats for sale.
