Help on pricing

I'm currently looking to pickup a classic mini but have no idea what would be considered market or competitive pricing...?!?!?

Can someone share some light on this and advise?

For example, how much would this be worth on the streets here in the U.S.?

There are some things you really need to know and understand. First off that is not a 1972 Mini. That is a 1999? REPLICA built on a 1972 chassis(AHEM). Classics start about 4K for a sorta rough but running car to 18K for a (ahem) replica. You are very welcome to call me if you wish. You can Email for phone number at Dkimble5(at)Knology.net. There are some things about classice we don't need to discuss in a public forum. I just want you to know what you are looking at and be happy and comfortable with your purchase of a classic.

How could you trust anything this seller is saying when he claims this is a 1972 Mini. It clearly is not!!! Using a 10-10 number or at $.010 a minute invest $6 and call (david) HotelCalif for an hour and possibly save yourself thousands. Clear title doesn't mean your state won't recognize it for what it is (an illegally imported mini) and conficate it. And then there could also be a problem with your insurance company if they ever have to payout on a claim...they will deny any claim and your policy as fraudulently obtained if they ever figure out what year that car really is.

After buying, building, owning and selling numerous classic Mini's, I have two comments for you. (OK, three comments)

One, do your homework. Find books, web sites and clubs and study until you're comfortable you know what you want and what it's worth.

Two, be patient. Once you know what you want, just hang out til your car comes around. Classic Mini's cycle a lot so you won't have to wait too long.

Oh, and one more thing, rust in a Mini is BAD!! You want the most rust free car you can find and / or afford. Mechanical stuff is relatively cheap and easy to fix but a rusty body is a loser.

And, Hotelcalif, what could there be about classic Mini's that can't be discussed on a public forum?

ripley.
