Mpg

rising prices made me curious so I finally did an experiment

since my odometer is locked at 68999 this takes a little planning

but last nite's 60 mile run yeilded 36mpg highway

that's a 1275, HIF6, LCB - PlayMini twin DTM -

I'm not complaining....

New cars such as these with 1275 (Spridgets) normally got around 28mpg city and 32-34mpg hiway. A little more for a Mini since it weighs less than a Spridget. My 1098cc wagon got as much as 37mpg driving to MME and was running rich, too hot and loaded with tools etc..

I know I have been averaging almost 40 mpg driving to work in my 79 cabrio with a 998. This is based on the distance as measured in my other car so I know it to be pretty acurate.

Last time I checked, I was averaging about 35-38 mpg in my classic. It has a 1275cc with overhead cam, header and exhaust. Not too bad

About 39-40 mpg here on a 76 stock 998, with a mix of city/highway driving. It was bad before, but now every time we stop for gas someone wants to know the MPG for the Mini.

Yep - that's the main question I get asked. I've been on the car show circuit here this year (what I bought the car for other than driving) and 9 times out of 10 the question is, "what's the mpg?"

And I just hadn't cared - and it took specific effort since the odometer is busted

But heck - 30 plus ..... but yes, I do run premium....2 gallons a week, but premium.

last line
on the show circuit I've been a winner in 6 of 8 .... folks just love an original. Even up against full up 110% restored trailered in jobs in the Triumph and MG catagory....the 'folks' are voting for lil' ol' me

Mini ON dudes
