Hi,

I'm in the process of buying a MINI, and would like to know if the classic mini ever had "silver" bonnet stripes? I would like to put silver bonnet stripes on my new MINI, but it only comes with the factory installed white or black bonnet stripe options, and I want to make sure my MINI is as close to the classic as possible in authenticity.

im not sure if it's true to original or not, but i've seen some dark blue minis with silver bonnet stripes. what color is your MINI going to be?

 

Mine will be "forest green" but I want it to be as close to the original.

As they made "classic" Minis up to 2000, yes there were silver stripes. There was a "bluestar" model around 1995 which had silver roof & stripes I believe...

besides, make you MINI yours....want silver, then do it!

 

Check out pics of my mini. I just took of the silver bonnet stripes and added white bonnet stripes. As you can see from the pics, my roof matched my stripes. Good luck.

 

All above is true but only on the very latest classic Mini's. If you have a 70's or 80's Mini, then white or black would be the choice. And, if you have a "vintage" classic (1960's), then no stipes is correct.
