Roll Bar anybody?

Looking at putting a roll bar with a door bar in my classic for the few daily drives I do. (we have some crazy drivers around here!) Been looking at Mini Mania;s version, wondering if anybody else has one. Been looking around with not much luck. Like to have a chrome one. 2 eyes are always better than one! Thanks.

I've Got Safety Devices

I have a safety devices bolt in - cage, w/out door bars; in black. Fits well, looks good. PM me if you want some pics.

MINISPORT.COM appears to have the cage and you can buy in parts

1. Roll Bar
2. Front cage
3. Door Bars

they also list a weld in cage

prices are in Pounds....so ya need to figure in the conversion and shipping across the pond. But I've had good luck ordering from them. They have a nice big catalogue of goodies.

Check out Autopower Rollbars: http://www.autopowerindustries.com/Roll_Bars.htm

Try Seven Enterprises:

I have a chrome roll bar in one of my classic Minis, just a hoop with two downtubes. Have a friend in Tucson with a full cage on his street classic and it sure is a pain to get in and out.

Right-o

SEVEN has the very Safety Devices unit I have - probably cheaper than shipping fm UK. I only see the roll bar and front cage however. I suppose you could get the door bars from UK if you want them.

With just the roll bar and cage there is really no interference to getting in/out of the car. Everything is pretty tight to the body. I think the door beams would complicate that significantly altho the increased protection would be big time too.

I've had pretty decent luck ordering from SEVEN myself....but that shift **** is still on backorder.......

Thanks guys. The biggest thing with the door bars is getting t-bone. My wife won't ride in it right now. If I can find door bars that are hinged it help getting in and out.

Door bars

If you are really serious about door bars on your cage that swing away for easier entry and exit you might want to find someone around where you live that can modify an existing cage. Example: In the past I've seen guys cut the flat mounting base off the two front bars that extend down to the floor. Add a piece of tubing that slides over the front bars and reweld the flat base back on for mounting. Then weld a the 'side' bar to this sleeve so that it swivels on the front bar and fabricate a locking device so that the side bar opens and closes like the door. Now I know there is more to it and some engineering is needed but I don't think it would be that difficult. Good luck!
