Need help!!!
i have a 1976 fuel injected mini blue star edition and i was driving when i hit a pot hole. All of a sudden my car choked up and turned off. I tried to restart it over and over again but it failed. Starter seems fine, battery isnt an issue. Any idea what i could have hit that caused it to do that? Need help! i looked under the car and every thing seems fine. I am wondering if a wire or something necessary came out. Please help or provide suggestions.

Are you located in the US? I'm afraid the fuel injection system may be a bit difficult to diagnose here in the states, since Minis of that era were never imported. You might have better luck diagnosing the fuel injection issue on the UK mini forums ... assuming it is a fuel injection issue. Quick check ... does it have fuel? How about spark plug spark while cranking? Those are the first things I'd check.
I don't know very much about classic MINI's but most fuel injected cars have a fuel cut off switch that turns off the electric fuel pump when there has been an impact. Several of my cars had the same problem after hitting a real bad hole in the road...a chuck hole in Ohio.
You have to reset the switch to get the fuel pump to start working again. The reason for the switch is to stop the fuel pump from continuing to pump fuel, preventing a fire, and shutting off the engine after an accident. You might need an owners manual to find out where the fuel pump rest switch is located. Good luck!
