Classic Mini Cooper 1975 project Vtec or non-Vtec

Hello everyone, finaly after loosing my 1st MCS to a flash flood in South Beach, 2nd MCS due to relocation (from Miami to Middle East) i have the chance of getting my hands on a Classic Mini Cooper 1975 and a muscle mechanic that can put an F16 engine if asked.

my question to you all is, should i go with a Honda Vtec engine or a normal Honda civic engine (non- Vtec). the price diference is about 2,000 usd. also any recomendtions for other parts or configurations?

thanks in advance for your time

not to burst your bubble

but there was no Cooper model in 1975 according to my references

The original Cooper and S were made from 1961 thru 1971.

You have a Mini but not a Cooper
