Description: Morris 1959 Mini-Minor Registration Number: 434 NWL Chassis Number: M/A2S4/D/98 Engine Number: 3MB.U.H5334 E4700-5700 One of the oldest known surviving examples of the legendary Mini, and with a particularly interesting history. This 1959 Mini, the 40th Morris Mini-Minor built, was completed on May 25th to export de-luxe left hand drive specification. Sold to Bernard Ferriman, in 1962, the Mini remained in the same ownership until acquired at auction in 1985 by Penta Reading, who thoroughly restored the two-door saloon. Auctioned by Sotheby's in 1987, the car was bought by Today newspaper and featured as a competition prize in 1988 The winners formerly exhibited their prize at a motor museum (since closed) and have carefully maintained and garaged the saloon, painted in Old English White. A V5 registration document, M.o.T certificate and a trace certificate from British Motor Industry Heritage Trust, (who estimate that the Mini is among the ten oldest surviving), are included.
