I have new rubber boots on my cleaned & painted steering along with new rod ends. My question is around lubrication of the rack. I have seen some notes about the rack being filled with semi liquid grease. The rack is very smooth and there was nothing in the old boots, however the rack and swivel joints were greased...

What is the recommended lubrication?

 

According to Haynes, early models - SAE 90EP gear oil. Later models - semi liquid grease, specification.....blah blah.
