Wheel stud help
Wheel stud help
Hey guys. I've got 8.4" brakes up front and one of the studs is missing so I definitely need a new one. Anyone know of a place I can get 16 new studs and what sizes I need as well as lug nuts? I've got a 1989 spec mini with 13x6's all around.
If the stud broke off because the lugs weren't tightened and it was driven like that you may need a new wheel hub. The hole where the stud press fits into gets rounded out and it will never tighten.
I would replace the studs on that wheel but I don't see a real need to change all of them.

Does anyone know what size I'll need for my 8.4" rotors? I think the 2 1/4" studs are the ones I need, but none of the information I have found says anything definitively.
Should be this one, but I would measure what's on the car and get the same ones.

If you call Mini Mania, they can tell you for sure. They've got some pretty knowledgeable folks answering their customer service number.

Not sure what kind of hubs you have, but I assume they are threaded to accept the wheel bolts. Mini Mania sells a bolt/stud conversion kit for the BMW MINI: http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/NMW1009/InvDetail.cfm
They might have something similar for classic Minis, or you might have to change your hubs to take the stock studs. I'd call the Mini Mania help desk, they could probably tell you for sure what you need.
