Old English White - Yellow Caste?

My car is sanded and needs the primer sprayed with a sealer and then it is ready for paint. We opened the can of Old English White (OEW - roof color), stirred it up and it had a yellowish caste to it. The car is being painted Island Blue that came with Snowberry White and Old English White as options for the roof color. Based on what I saw for OEW, I am planning to go back to the paint store and have them mix Snowberry White.

Is OEW a yellowish white? Is Snowberry whiter than OEW. I have pics of a car in Island Blue and OEW in the Feb 2007 Mini Magazine and it doesn't look yellow - but then lighting is deceiving.

Any one have any experience with these colors? Did I get a bad mix? Looks like I am out $50 on the OEW...

Yes, OEW will be a yellowish, creamy color. Snowberry will be WHITE.

If you go Snowberry, what is the OEW? Brand? Single stage? Base/clear? Let me know....

I am using PPG Deltron paints. I had the Old English White (WT3) mixed using the Ditzler code 8177. The Island Blue was Ditzler # 12010. The Snowberry White (WT4) is Ditzler # 8341.

Deltron by PPG is a base coat/clear coat paint system. The car was primed using Evercoat Slick sand and will be sealed with a PPG DAS3021 white acrylic urethane sealer prior to applying the base coat / clearcoat.

I am not painting the car myself. Unfortunately I did not get any hardener for the sealer so we are on hold until Monday when I can pick up the hardener. I am looking for something much whiter for the roof than the OEW. for a while I considered matching the BMW Mini white roof color, but it sounds like the Snowberry White is what I am looking for.

You should put on whatever color pleases you.
Depends on how much contrast you want. With Island Blue the Snowberry will contrast nicely.

My son used another pair on his '83 Mini, Arum White roof/Lapis Blue. Not as blue but a similar match to Island Blue/OEW I think the Arum is a little "browner" than OEW. These were 80's colors just a little later than 83 though.

Nice Mini

Lapis blue looks great with the Arum White. The Old English White is too yellow - not sure I have a bad mix. I am going to use Snowberry White. Thanks for the info.
