Spot/Driving lights-preferences?

I'd like to intall a set of 4 spot/driving lights on my newly acquried classic Mini. NE season prevents me from seeign a variety other's setups live so I am hoping to get some opinions here as I am too anxious to get going on mods to wait for springtime . I prefer the appearance of the raised middle two lights, but am not married to the idea if there aren't any sturdy quality bars/sets available at reasonable prices. Sooo, I am looking for opinions on light brands, appearance, bar vs no bar, raised vs "works" look, etc.

Thanks!

Excellent diagram-I will use that if I do 2X2. How did you mount? Full width bracket?

not cheap, but different.....plus it's stainless steel so it'll probably outlast some chrome UK stuff.

How does it mount? I see they say it attaches using subframe bolts and then what, does it curve up behind the front bumper and then does the cross member sit within the bumper cave or above it?

curves up to be just infront of the bumper.
bolt on by removing the bolts that attach the front apron to subframe.

Thats the set up I have.Wipac. I like them but had to make my own bracing to mount them at the top to keep them from vibrating when driving.

I used a 4 pole trailer connector so I could detach them when removing the grill.

Your S is a BEAUTY! ( I like the snow-globe artistry too)

I've been looking at the WIPAC or similar setup too as I like the raised center light appearance. The bracket seems flimsy. How did you do the bracket bracing? Do I see a bar screwed into the backs of all 4 lights?

Thanks for the kind words.
Yes I made a flate alum bar that I pop riveted to the back of each light. This bar is then tied in to the grill. No shake.

Aluminum stock it looks to be. Alignment must be a bear given the fixed covers ( if one uses the covers).

1 Sam for my friend? I have no such friends.

might have to make one of those aluminum support bars
I think I might make an individual bar for each light that curves up from the mount beneath each light

will definitely use the trailer connector idea, i have my lights mounted but not wired yet
