When we were at the track day in Dunnvile Ont. i got talking to the owner of the track and a couple of the guys running there and got talking about doing a mini/MINI whole weekend event there. Since next year is the 50th for the mini and all that was there had a awesome time i was think that it might work. there would be the track, show n' shine, vendor/swap meet area maybe also be a dyno there. the track has a campground and there a a bunch of hotels/motels in the area as well....i just want to test the water first. we were thinking of doing it around the second week of May (i want to check the race schedule to make sure it'll not conflict). what do you folks think?

 

the late April (22 to 25) I think..Classic Mini50 in Tennessee (an all classic event) is the only other 50th Anniv. event I am familiar with at the moment.

The big one in the U.S. will almost certainly be Mini Meet East Meets West 2009 in Winona, Minnesota, June 29 to July 2: http://www.minimeet09.org/

But probably the biggest, period, will be Mini 50 at IMM 2009: http://www.imm2009.com/imm/ August 7-10. That will be in a park next to the Longbridge, England factory where the first Minis were produced. My guess is that there will be well over 2000 Minis in attendance. I went to IMM2008 last May in Holland, and there were a bit over 1700 Minis there - Heaven!

 

Being Im from the Mosport Area this is gonna be perfect for me...count me in and Ill be more than happy to tell my friends!

 

That's right!!! mini meet north is happening!!!! it will be held at Mosport Raceway on the third weekend of June (19-21) during VARAC Vintage Racing Festival. A special Mini/MINI – only show area will be arranged. Entrants to the Car Show get a reduced ticket price and Sunday noon-hour lapping tour of the race track, which since the event will be celebrating Minis, could be a great spectical with all of the Minis grouped together and perhaps even an arranged photo session of the group on the front straight. there also a possibility of a lapping day on Friday.
