how much should i pay for a classic Mini?

i like the old classic MINIs and eventually id like to get one to restore over time, (no i wont wall this one lol) i just want to make it look completely stock but all restored, nice paint, nice interior, engine, etc.

how much should i be looking roughly to spend on a classic mini? really since its going to be painted either way, paint doesnt matter, but i dont want any rust, etc.

Prices vary widely--from $6k-16K typically. They are inherently rusty and I'd wager that any Mini in need of paint will need rust repairs, too. If you haven't yet, I'd suggest hooking up with your local MINI/mini club and spend some time looking at various Minis in person. Also, if you get a chance to drive or ride in a few, you'll see differences that might sway you toward a newer--or older vintage.

You know what they say..."Rust Free Mini" in the Queens English means "free rust with your Mini".

Be sober and be prepared for rust. Looking of a Mini utterly free of rust is like wanting to date a slender Rosie O'Donnell. Fat chance!

Best wishes and happy hunting...

Learn about rust & Minis. There's plenty of resources here and on Minimania.com. Then, buy the best body shell you can find. You won't regret it. You will sincerely regret buying a Mini with more rust than you can handle.

It's almost always less expensive

to buy a restored car that the owner is out of love with than to restore it yourself. Look for the best car you can buy when you buy, it will save you money in the long run.

Unless of course, you are the type of "Car Guy/ Girl" that just has to get his/her hands dirty, and really likes to show off his or her accomplishments.

I just love the attention and praise, geuss that describes me pretty well
