Water temp sending unit thread size?

Anyone know what the thread size is of the 1275 water temp gauge sending unit (on the block)? It doesn't appear to be NPT (duh) but I heard from a motorhead friend that it might not be metric either.

I'm trying to connect up aftermarket gauges and I need to locate or make an adapter to convert to 1/8-27 NPT.

Similarly, the I would love to know the oil pressure sending unit thread size as well.

Thanks for any helpful info!
Jeff

Oil is 1/4" NPT, I think. The brass fittings sold at Home Depot or Lowes will work. That's whats on mine. Install a Tee and you can have both an idiot light and a mechanical guage.

The H2O is an odd size, but NPT. I install a SUNPRO guage set and while it had the correct size adapter it wasn't long enough. I ended up placing an "O" ring around the temp sender bulb to seal it in the head.
