The Bourne Mini
Does anyone know what model/year the Mini from the Bourne Identity is?
I haven't seen the movie for a while but based on what I remember from the interior shots in the movie, it seems to be a 90's model.
If I ever get a classic I'd want to make a clone of that car, complete with black fender and missing wheel arches, dents optional.
Here are two of the cars used in the film, I think they went through a bunch.

I probably would try to replicate everything.
I think I've nearly figured it out. It is a late 80's early 90's Rover Mini Sprite.

a 1994 rover mini sprite

the interior looks just like the one in the movie.

Why? So I can masquerade as the pennyless chump I am, I guess. Either that or it would be nice to have a car where I wouldn't have to worry about chips, scratches, or dents - A beater it would seem.
It pains me to see a beaten up car, especially a classic.

. good luck with rust on a mini thats open up in multiple places.
Actually, it's two different cars... as you watch the chase scene you see 2 *different* steering wheels.
One with Cooper badge and one without, as fading memory serves. Too many brain cells killed by 110 leaded racing fuel. :D
As to building a replica Mini.. why not do a Mr Bean... puke yellow and black with a big bolt on lock on the drivers door?
For me... one of my Mk Is will become a Monte Rally winner. 33 EJB here I come!
Cheers,

Mr. Bean's Mini is too iconic. I would want to be more low profile yet know I have something that resembles something sort of famous that a few people might just recognise.
Two different Minis? I'll have to bust out the DVD and take a look. youtube lacks resolution.

It sure has the webasto moonroof but I am not sure if its a British classic open because its a red car. I maybe wrong but I know that they only released the open classic in British Racing Green Metallic.
Looking at the photos you posted above, those are two different Minis. The last Mini has wholes where side indicator and antenna should be. It also has a brush guard and the missing wiper. Plus it has its European plate. Which Mini will you recreate?

I know they used sevral of them in the movie. I'll probably recreate the one with the brush guards as per the movie. I'm not sure why the one in the picture lacks them, beyond minor dent and rust differences, they seem to be the same model/year.
And they used to have it on display at Universal Studios Florida. In fact, I had to shut down the audio for the display in the first photo every night.
