Well I might have an answer to this question. While driving around in Chicago last weekend I happened to be behind one of Chicago's finest. It had an LED light bar on the cruiser and when they stepped on the brake, the brake lights on the light bar pulsated. I think they flashd 3 times before they stayed lit. So if the Chicago cops have it then it must be legal in Chicago, and if its legal in Chicago then it must be legal in Cook county. I would assume that it would be legal everywhere else. I hope that helps.

But Chicagos finest can also do many things legally that you can't.

I've seen an MB here in St. Charles with the flashing light... it wasn't a C-class, some thing bigger.

I wonder if one could rig a switch, to turn off the 3rd pulsar light (like, after a police person stopped you to check on it .....) It would have to be a switch up at the drivers end of the car. Hmmmm...

I just noticed this post. I've been offline forever.

I have BOTH the Pulsar and the 4th brake light mod. You'd think that this would be enough lighting to illuminate the entire block, but I have the primary taillights smoked out so it balances nicely.

I think it is all probably technically illegal, but I have such dark tint in my windows that the lighting is the least of my concerns.

I've never been pulled over, have braked in front of cops numerous times, and once even gave a thumbs up to a cop as I was making a with a corresponding smile and save back.

I've always thought that the Pulsar would be an easy mod to explain since its entire purpose is safety. Safety first is hard to argue with.

We'll see, huh?
