First thing I did was pull the front plate.

Throws off the lines of any car with a front plate attached,
When I occasionally get cited which is very rare I just consider it a style tax.

Bought our 05 MCS new and went plateless until I received a ticket last year. Then I mounted the front plate (7 years later). Our new 2013 MCS convertible has been front-plateless for 4 months now without a ticket and have no intention of putting the plate on unless law enforcement gets really crazy and I start receiving multiple tickets. I like the suggestion about leaving it under the front seat to place quickly on the dash if I get pulled over.

The ticket happened at O'Hare airport when I had the vehicle parked in the remote lot. The front end of the car is clearly visible from the opposite row and security drives up and down rows all day looking for any and all violations.

When it comes to airports, I've since learned to park in parking garages, where the front bumper is facing the wall.

I'm running plateless. I actually don't own a front plate. Previous owner didn't have it on either.

Since the green wheels were installed... I've been pulled over and written 14 fix-it tickets for every imaginable thing on a MINI that can be modified. Yet, even with the million times I get stopped, still never been written a front plate ticket WHILE driving the car... Apparently when the speeding bullet goes by, the front tag is the least of the worries!!

I cant imagine anything other than exhaust, tint, headlights, or tailights for a fix-it ticket, unless your MINI literally fell apart on the roadway.

I actually started this thread awhile back, but wanted to give a sort of update.

I did end up using a front plate that is mounted using the front tow hook so I didn't have to drill. After the summer, I was thinking that maybe I should take it off again.

But then back in Aug/Sept, I got pulled over for speeding on 294. The cop walked to the front of my car and then came back and said 'Good...at least you have your front plate'.

So after that, I decided that I'm leaving it on.
