Independent Clutch Replacement?

I'm soon to be in need of a replacement clutch (plus flywheel & throwout bearing I'd suppose) on my R56 after 84,000 miles. Would appreciate comments / suggestions regarding non-OEM options for parts & install. I'm northwest of downtown Chi about 40 miles, looking to save some $$ after nearly 18 months of unemployment

Non-OEM... well, i would get a quote from MINIofChicago and also The Euro shop in Lake Villa. It may not be as large a difference in price as you think.

Perhaps, but they're a little too far for practical consideration.

Yeah, I bought some brake pads from them last year... was gonna give them a ring up, see what they might price the job out at. They're about as far from me as the dealer I've been using. Need to check whether they're 'approved' by my extended warranty underwriter too, though of course this job is not covered. Don't want to do anything that might void further warranty claims - it's paid for itself & then some after several issues I've had this year.

Glen from the Rover Shop quoted me $2200 for my 2008 r56 which seemed a bit high to me. I'm planning to get a price from Hubbard Woods Motors as well.

Follow-up:

Ended up having OEM clutch kit installed by dealer after diagnosed oil seal leak repair was covered under extended warranty. They paid the labor, I paid for the clutch kit.
