Ultimate MINI Challenge III !
Announcing the Ultimate MINI Challenge 3 at the Mini Meet West meets East!
You’re coming to Mini Meet East Meets West anyway, right? And you’ve been itching to get your Classic or New Mini racer out for a run, right? And wouldn’t it be the cat’s meow if you were racing against your fellow Miniacs with the track to yourselves?
We can help with that.
Mini Mania presents the ULTIMATE MINI CHALLENGE 3 – The Mid-America Showdown, at Blackhawk Farms Raceway on June 30, 2004 . (For those keeping score at home, that’s on Wednesday during the Mini Meet.) As usual, details are still being worked out, but here are the answers to your first round of questions:
This is a one-day event. You can sign up for an optional test and tune day on Monday or Tuesday (your choice) during Phil Wicks Driving Academy events; see details below.
The UMC3 is open to Classic Minis, their variants, and New MINIs only.
There will be multiple classes, according to entries received, and multiple heats.
Event is sanctioned by NASA.
Current competition license from recognized racing organization is required (NASA, SCCA, VARA, HMSA, etc.)
Five-point harness, roll cage, drivers suit & gloves, helmet, fire extinguisher required.
Entry fee is $175.
You will have a BLAST!
The UMC3 is the only event on the track at Blackhawk that day, and will be sharing the facilities with Mini Meet’s SOLO Autocross event. This will be a very fun, casual day of Mini motorsports action with plenty to see and do!
We will keep you informed about new developments, and entry form and other details will be posted on the Ultimate Mini Challenge website, at <http://www.minichallenge.minimania.com/>.
Mini Mania is excited to bring the Ultimate Mini Challenge to Mini Meet West Meets East and to America’s heartland. We’re looking forward to meeting Mini racers from all over the country as everyone gathers for the Mini Meet!
TEST AND TUNE is available during the Phil Wicks Driving Academy sessions on Monday and Tuesday. The cost is $160 per day; you will be in the Expert class along with other licensed race drivers. It is expected that each class group will get six 15-minute sessions on track during the day. Read more about the Phil Wicks Driving Academy events at Blackhawk Farms.
Monday’s class is open to any type of vehicle, Tuesday is Minis/MINIs only. Space is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The Academy sessions are limited to 120 participants, and space may be limited on Tuesday; please make your plans accordingly.
