Just posting to open this to anyone in or near my area. Considering that there are only 3 Cooper S on the road and only a handful of Coopers on the road... I think I may be the only here to represent Winnipeg. Anyhow... hey to ALL CANDIANS, and especially to those in Manitoba.

Hey Winterpeg. Just getting the Miniready for the Montreal winter...hey it's there to drive! Any suggestions? I'm running on the run flat's...sweet in the summer...but not ice and snow worthy. Whatch ya using in the winter? I've gel-sprayed my underneath..the engine's next. Anxious to see how polar is my Mini!

zoom! zoom!

hey VINI, I just received my Cooper S this past Tuesday. It's DS/DS, with the 17" rims. Although there hasn't been very much snowfall, I haven't had to change tires yet. And in that regard I haven't driven on any snow tires on the MINI either. But I have heard good things about Michelin Artic Alpins. They should run you about $100 cdn per tire.

Hey Winnipeg,

Ended up putting on Goodyear UltraGrips Ice (205/r55r16). They are 10 cm's wider than my run flats, which technically is not the way to go. I wanted to keep my mags on without having to fork over 225$/tire for Winter runflats. I have excellent traction...The DSC is the key factor here...it really keeps the mini tight on the snow. I've tried to spin out around corners ( during quiet time!) but the mini won't let go. We had a foot of snow this weekend. What blast passing 18 wheelers in the left lane...so far so good! I'll try not to push my luck...but everything is so tempting with the mini!

Potential Canadian buyer with question about mini cooper prices:

Is there any indication that our mini dealers are really marking up prices? Are we all paying about the same given the "exclusivity" of this great car? Just wondering if I have a lot of room to negotiate on the price.

Thanks!

Hey man, I'm in Winnipeg. I also have a buddy who has a MCS here too. Wanna hook up for a drive this Spring?

Winter driving sucks!

Regarding MCS pricing, there was very little room for negotiating. It was take it or leave it. I TOOK!
