Tiny Blue Thing - You did the right thing and I am glad you are alright.

Crashton - Do you really think I was serious? Not the first time I have been called an A-Hole. I am honored

Well my wife does and she flips me off three times a day!

All things aside here,

I take a defensive driving course once a year. I recommend this to everyone. Since starting these courses 28 years ago, I have not had an accident since.

Looking at my material this morning, it is best to let the person behind you pass if they are getting to close. If they are purposely following too close, slow down for both drivers safety. If it appears you are going to have an impact from a car behind you, do what can to protect your body. Your body cannot be replaced, but your car can.

See, everyone is saying to let him pass, but how do you let him pass when it is just one lane?

Or, did I do everything correctly and he should have gone around and then gotten back in the exit lane, not wait until it's just that lane and then run me off the road?

Believe it or not, there is a forum for Taura$$. They like to talk about how cool and fast their four door grocery getters are. Pathetic.

TinyBlueThing,

Given the circumstances, you had very few options. The outcome was great because you and your car did not get hurt. I think you did an outstanding job. The guy was either drunk or frankly out of control. He deserved the tongue lashing you gave him. He was lucky you were such a good driver. This could have gotten very ugly where people could have been hurt. Thank GOD no one did. You go girl

And chances are he wasnt drunk or 'out of control.' This man's behavior is not an uncommon thing, especially in certain parts of this country, and is considered 'normal' by many. Some of the very same people who preach (the loudest) 'land of the brave and home of the free' get down on others who dont have or express the same opinions they do. 'Freedom is great, as long as youre free my way.' Stupid.

I bleed red white and blue and am as patriotic as they come. But I will never buy a Ford or GM car again. They're crap. I did have a PT Cruiser for 3 years that I loved and still miss.

The ******* didn't even know that a Cooper S would blow his turd on wheels away. Yes I would have followed him and called to cops toot sweet.
Aww... don't hate on Ford. Personally I love their trucks, especially the Super Dutys!

As for the idiot in the Taurus, I don't know what to say. All I can do is shake my head and wonder why we can't eat stupid people.

Wow, I wasn't so much surprised at the quick move to get in front of you as I was about the whole comment thing.

I haven't had that experience but I have had people who will just zip right around you and get right into your lane as if they're trying to show you "your going too slow!" The funny thing is, I'm usually chilling in the right most lane when this happens. As far as I see it, I can't get angry at someone doing the speed limit or constant speed in the right lane.
