11-08-08 meeting
Thanks BRM.....
Babs Bambini & I had a great time with our old friends & even got to make a some new ones. How cool is that?
Wellzy thanks for a nice drive on the backroads. The stop at the shrine of muscle cars was very cool too.
It was not boring & yep some truck was chasing us all day.
This was the first time that I've used FRS radios (thanks Kim). I need to know what kind to buy.
I see there are frs & gmrs, some radios have both. How about range, does that matter much? I see the range goes from 2 miles on some to 28 miles on others. Someone give me the scoop please.
Thanks!

Yep...if someone can provide some education on the 2-way radios it might be something on our Christmas wish list...from where we were, a lot of what Mark was saying was fuzzy-was it a distance thing or that we were doing hills and valleys?
And how in the heck can you confuse Mike as a squirrel?!?! Its even pushing it to call ME one!!
Unless its because I share the steroids the hamsters are on...
And just wait until April when Moose leads a drive...instead of a truck chasing you, you might very well be chasing a truck!! You never know with us which vehicle we will arrive in...we have yet to do a function in the Altima or motorcycle...and the Corolla only made it to Panera and not the drive in October so that might have to go back in the mix...and with several new folks joining us, after winter the Z-car might have to make another appearance...then there is always the cranky German's car for another British show...and...and...and...wait, what kind of cars do people in this club drive again???

the 2-ways that we have are cheep so they dont work well in less you are standing beside the person. that being said if you get a goo pear they will work great. one thing to look for is a set that that has sub channels. we are gooing to buy a better set this winter
I like the Motorolas I brought yesterday. I got them for the dragon and they were powerful enough. Plus they are reachargeable or use 3 AAAs. Only thing is that they didn't come in Chili Red

Moose and I just got a 2 pack of radios at Home Depot. They are Motorola and come with battery packs, car charger and home charger and have a weather band on them. Motorola has a pretty reputable name and from playing around with them at home they seem pretty nice. We will see once we use them out on the road, though. But it was a pretty good deal for $60 for the both of them with all that is included....in case you were shopping around...
