Shipping to Australia

I am looking at purchasing parts from the US in the future, things such as CAI, exhausts, lights etc etc. Mainly from moss mini, mini mania and the like. Im curious as to what it is like to ship things over from the US (shipping costs, delivery times, and if the equipment will actually fit) Any help would be appreciated.

Generally, most mechanical parts should fit fine, excepting stuff like steering components and things that relate to where in the car the driver sits.

Shipping can be pricey, especially on heavy items, but with the US dollar as weak as it is, now is a good time to buy from US suppliers.

Looks like you have a QLD plate on there. A couple of members of the Queensland MINI club are coming over here for AMVIV and might be willing to bring you back some heavy but small items if you ask nicely.

I'm from Sydney and currently live in Las Vegas. I did a trip home in September and hadn't been home since 2003 before that.

I just sent a pair of Twin S.U. Carbs for an MBG to Australia and it was going to be $250 through UPS. It finally set me back $55. to go through the U.S. Postal service with the same delivery time.

We spent about $1200 US on parts and $200 on shipping. Keeping in mind it was 3 boxes and one of those was a cat back exhaust.

I wanted a MCS originally as well, however it was practically impossible for me to legally own one. I am 18 and just scraped in before the new P plate rules which are no supercharger, turbocharger and under 200 kw, so I could of gotten one still. The issue was insurance, no car insurance companies want to insure a kid in a MCS, it comes to around $3000 annually for insurance, which is a bit under double what I have now.

Some day I think Ill either buy an S, put the S motor in mine or turbo my engine out. My friend is into car racing and he knows a few people that do engine rebuilds and turboing. So that may be an interesting option.

Oh that sucks. When do you get your license back? If I had the choice between the S and just a cooper I would go with the S just because there are so many more possibilities with it. But either way the mini is great. Im still yet to get mine on the track, Ive taken it on the skid pan and that is a blast.

Yes very quick response. I live on this site. But thats good you will be getting your license back soon, I am on my Ps as well but I dont have to display plates which is awesome. Have you owned a Mini before or will this be your first one? And are you looking at first or second hand?

Ah so you are going for the turbo; and LSD, want to do burnouts aye? I've heard good and bad things about the R56. We payed moss using credit card. I placed the order and he sent an email asking for my details and credit card info etc.

I have a Magnaflow exhaust and Injen CAI. They dont do much for hp improvements, its more just for sound, which is pretty awesome for a mini.

I ship alot of parts and only use 2 carriers, USPS and FedEx.
UPS is so overpriced they should be chaged with robbery.
Have shipped to AU with no problems.
Delivery is always 7 or 8 days.
