Pineapple visiting Japan

--Are there any Mini clubs in Japan or more specifically in the Tokyo/Higashi Fussa/Yokota Air base area? Just wondering. I will be there in Tokyo between January 27th and February 15th. I've got some down time between February 4th through thru the 9th and I'd love to meet some MINI motorists out there in Tokyo. Feel free to pm me if you'd like to get together. Mucho Mahalos et..to Domo Arigato gozaimasu Minasan!

There are only a few Japanese MINIACS that belong to NAM.

I'm sure there's a huge scene there, but you're probably going to have to search on japanese sites. Have you seen some of the aftermarket items that come out for Minis in Japan? I'm sure there's SOME people Mini people there. Also, I watch a lot of Japanese anime and they really seem to like to use the mini as one of those background cars... so take that for whatever that means...

8 degrees C and dropping

--It's cold here in Japan and so far after a week in Japan I've only seen 3 MINI Coopers. Only 1 on Yokota Air Base. Pretty slim. I DO see a TON of Nissan Skylines though. It's like their version of the camry out here. Ho hum. If you're a MINI driver in Tokyo, gimme a shout. Hai Arigato Minasan!

ps. It's really weird driving on the wrong side of the car and on the wrong side of the road.

--Okay I've heard that there actually is a huge Mini Classic scene here, but I don't think they hang out in West Tokyo. I've seen 2 on the road and 1 parked. Got a few pics of them, but I'm always too slow to catch the ones being driven around.

Check out this article from Road and Track though on the new MINI.

Man I miss my MINI. It's been more than 3 weeks since I last drove her. Eeek!
