Hey guys...my hubby and I are debating on coming... I know it sounds like fun, but we've never done any events before and don't belong to any clubs or anything.... would we be totally out of our element?


oh...plus...it'll be really cold, right?? LOL

 

Come on out It'll be tons of fun. Best way to meet new people who share a passion you have. Should be mid 70's that weekend.

 

It's my first also. And you should check out West Coast Mini's, they are a great little club out of San Diego area.

 

hmm...well I'm glad I won't be the only AMVIV virgin.
I think West Coast Minis are located pretty close to where I am, too. So that would be convenient if nothing else ..hehe

We weren't actually even thinking about going because my husband had a big work thing that week that is now canceled, so we didn't save up any money or anything for spending, and I'm afraid once we get there I will want to buy everything!! LOL.

I'm actually really excited about going on the rides to like calico ghost town and stuff...do a lot of people go on them?

Also, does anyone know, if I bring my s-winders to see if someone's interested in buying them....are we allowed to do that? I mean, I don't know what the rules are for organized events like this.

I went the first time with the same reservations. It was so much fun, I went again. This is my 3rd AMVIV.

I've made quite a few good friends and continue to be on the lookout for the ultimate motoring road.
The camaraderie of 100+ MINIs motoring through twisty roads to a destination of great photo-ops is great fun.

Being from Canada, my definition of cold may be different than yours. It gets cool at night with wind, but the days are warm, hot even.

It's my understanding that you can sell stuff there also, there is a guy in my club, and active on this and other sites, batrugger, who signed up to be a vendor for that specific purpose. I think you have to be a vendor though. Also, other vendors will allow you to sell stuff from their area. I'd bring them and see.

Anybody interested in 1/2 a round of golf? Alliante golf club is a 7000 yard course (that's BIG). I'm considering booking a tee time. But then, I might just go use the practice facilities

 

You can bring things to me at the event to sell for you, that is what I am going to be setup to do, or you can list them on a board that they have there. It is your choice. The benefit of me doing it is that they will be displayed where people can see them and I will handle the sale for you.

 

Do you mean only 9 holes? I am bringing my clubs, but I want to play 18, and what day and time were you thinking? You can PM me if you like.

 

okay darnit. my husband's work thingy-ma-jig got rescheduled for the same time. so I guess I will have to pass on AMVIV this year! Ugh. Oh well, AMVIV 8 here I come!
