Jcw ?

I was a little confused reading this thread -- maybe someone can clear it up for me. Is this really a JCW kit? If not, then the ad was highly deceptive, as it specified that it is a JCW tuning kit. If it is in fact a JCW kit, then there really is no problem at all.

This is an actual JCW kit. People were grousing that it didn't contain the 2005 upgrade - the $495 Air Intake Kit. Turner Motorsports put it up for sale very inexpensively. I bought it intending to resell it at a reasonable profit while still saving someone some money over list. And that's the whole story.

Without wanting to re-open a can of worms, it's still a good price - unfortunately for me, freight would be a killer :(

Yes yes indeed it is still an ok deal - I was just having a bit of a fun poke yesterday. After a kid threw something from an SUV at me and cracked my windshield i was not in the best "money mood" I guess I shouldn't have been b1tching and someone!

Most product sold on this section of NAM are either used or unused (privately owned but not installed). By applying a markup you're essentially acting as a vendor. Vendors must have an existing agreement with NAM.

Just my opinion

I disagree, I support an individual who sees an oppertunity to pick up a great deal and offer it up for a small profit that is still a good deal to the community. It is a fair price.

But I also support the community making all truthfull information available to the consumer, that consists of the community calling a price too high when they see it and in this case making the community aware that this was recently bought from a vendor at a reduced price

So.....the bottom line is......What needs to be said is said, yes it WAS sold to him for less, but it is still a fair deal. The fact that it was purchased somplace else for cheaper has been made known and it is now up to the intrested consumers to buy, pass or negotiate

good luck

BTW.....I do have questions, just for curiosity sake? JCW's are numbered, so when you buy this kit do you get a number as well? If installed would the dealer recognize it as an official JCW?

Good questions. I have not opened Turner's shipping cartons! Talk about trust. So I don't know what the JCW number is. I'm not sure which if the three boxes it is packed in. On the install - I have a feeling it depends on the dealer to set their policy. My understanding is that if the JCW kit is installed by a MINI dealer, then the warranty is valid. I could see a dealer going either way. But, if you're going racing in SCCA T3, its a moot point.

You should check that out. It may be a dealer install number that may be a part of the JCW tune.
And it's still a good deal...

Price reduction

At the risk of once again being excoriated by the anti-free market members of the list, I am reducing the price of this upgrade to my cost. Plans for T3 have been put on indefinite hold. The boxes have still not been opened.

So, $2,600 plus shipping - to US addresses only. PayPal only.

But reading these posts is a large part of my entertainment during the day... without them, the marketplace would be so boring...

Also... Micheal - where are you located? In case someone would like to avoid shipping...
