I have an extra pair of R56 Tail lights (no rings included) for sale. I took them off my Mini at 3000k. They are in fantastic condition, with not a scratch on them. The tabs are all in good condition. Essentially, they look brand new. They are the yellow type for a 2007+ Cooper/Cooper S, and have the mini insignia on the center (cool touch). See photos.

Anybody know is these will fit in an R53? I don't like my 05' tail lights because there is too much chrome. I don't want chrome rings around them so this would be perfect if they can fit.

 

No, and there is a chrome trim piece that goes around the outside of those as well.

If you want to blackout the ones you have and feel like tearing appart your lights, you can find plenty of references if you search for taillight blackout in the 1st GEN Interior/Exterior section.

THIS THREAD can get you started in the search, there is another "how-to" somewhere I think, but couldn't find it in the brief search I just did.
