I'm trying to find any clubs near the Eastern side of your beautiful state that we in the Columbus area could do group events and drives with. I had heard that there was a MINI group around the Montgomery/Auburn/Opelika area but can't seem to find them. Any help is appreciated

There is a group that usually does stuff with the British Motoring Club of Montgomery in the are you are talking about. That is usually headed up by Russel (I'm not sure what his NAM username is).

I'm in Auburn, and kinda wish there were more runs/meetups/etc. around the area.
