if you want to register for the MOTD event, HERE is the link. If you want to go on Fontana's Wait list for a room, there phone number is 800-849-2258. If you want to secure lodging somewhere else, HERE is a great list of options.

I have a room at the Lodge...two queen beds, heat, shower, hot and cold running water, etc. My wife was gonna go but has backed out, so I have an extra bed available if someone wants to share the costs. I have reservations from the night of 4/28 thru the morning of 5/3, when I check out. If anyone is interested in sharing the room with me, please PM me. Thanks.

Is anyone planning to camp at fontana? If so have you reserved a spot? What are my chances of getting a campsite Thursday night? I plan on driving down from NJ, but don't want to make reservations because something could always popup at work. Any advice would be appreciated

I have a Lodge room with a King bed reserved for the event, but my wife will not be attending this year and i will hopefully be splitting the room with a friend of mine. Would anyone like to trade their 2 double bed lodge room for a king size lodge room?

Hey if anyone is giving up a space at the lodge please keep me in mind. The boys still talk about last year trip to MOTD but I didn't think we would be able to go this year because of school and such but now it looks like it will work out. Looking for something with two beds.
Thanks

I have some friends, Jack and Lori Hunt, who own a small campground that also has 5 cabins. The cabins sleep 3-6 depending upon how friendly you are with your roommates. The rates are a VERY reasonable $20-25 per nite per person. Check out HuntsLodge.com and be sure to tell 'em that RW sent you. The site is in Tellico Plains about 5 minutes from the Cherohala Skyway and about 45 minutes from The Dragon.

I already got dibs on the single cabin, the other 4 and all the campsites are still available...

Oh man... I just decided to attend this event and plan to Banzai-drive down from Nova Scotia for it in 2.5 days... My father (who will be attending with me) and I have competed in Targa Newfoundland for the last 6 years (not in a MINI but it's spiritual brother... a '74 BMW 2002). After a long day of enthusiastic driving a decent night's sleep is priceless. I hope we can find something suitable close to Fontana.... proximity to event HQ, decent beds, and consistently hot shower temperature! If anyone can steer us the right direction let me know! Thanks all... looking forward to it!

I'll look out for your plates. (I have relatives in Waverley.) Just keep an eye out on this thread and get on the waiting list at Fontana. Something will open up.

Try Great Smoky Cabin Rentals they have several "pet friendly" rentals and the manager is a fellow MINI owner and Dragon Vet

Thanks Snooter for the tip. We booked a cabin just up the road from Fontana. The whole family is coming up so I may have three kids in the classic.

Cabins available

Hey guys, If you're still looking try www.dragonsrestcabins.com. They have private bathrooms, kitchenettes, and are reasonably priced. Never been there but felt lucky to find a place this late in the game. They're located in Robinsville.

Good luck & hope to have some fellow MINI's there,
DooBahDoo

Thanks for the tip. I emailed them. I would still prefer to stay at Fontana Village though. Anyone? Beuller? Beuller?

My wife and I are looking for a room or cabin at Fontana. We are on the waiting list for anything available. So if anyone needs to cancel, let us know. We will be there Wednesday through Sunday morning.

I'm not going to be able to make it this nor will be able to organize a caravan from Houston to attend.

With that said... I have TWO 3 Bedroom Magnolia cabins secured. I'm going to call the end of this week and cancel the reservation. If you have interest PM me.

WOW That sucks. I just called and all you get it a recording saying they will not be open for the 2009 season.

If anyone is affected by this and needs helps finding lodging, check the lodging list HERE or shoot me a email or pm and help you if needed.
