I wasn't planning on taking part but would be willing to go harass/harm his boss to make him be able to attend.

I'm in. I'll pay now and offer whatever help I can. Brewswap is the ONLY must have event, IMO. Matt, Aaron, let me know what else you need.

Nice work steppin' up Chris, et al. Brew Swap or bust!

That's what I'm talking about! A man willing to gamble and drink..... where are all the real men out there dammit!!!!!!!!
I'll give you a website to register with if we have to wait any longer for NAM to get it setup.... This is for charity and I can make it happen!

disclaimer... I have been drinking most off the night, I am trying to work on my brewswap, beerlympics abilities so anything said in this post cannot be taken for actual fact or statements towards an event associated with the Brewswap. North American Motoring and its affiliates do not endorse any comment made by drunko the prize clown (that would be me) in any post on this site.

A. Provided this event goes off (and it looks like it will thanks to the responders here) registration will be through NAM and will open up at the same time as main MOTD registration. You will need the basic registration to be able to attend the Brew Swap.

B. Thanks to all the offers to pay for Heidi and I to attend. There's no way we could ever accept such charity but we're truly appreciative and we feel the love.

C. I think by this time next week we'll have a good view of who will be running the show. Don't be surprised if I PM or email you guys who have posted offering to help. I'd like to get as much help as possible so you all do a little and no one person has to do a lot.

Thanks again to all who have responded. Believe me the thought of cancellation didn't sit well but it had to be discussed.

Somehow I knew if you posted threatening to cancel it, you would get this kind of response. MOTD just isn't the same without the Brew Swap! I am so happy that you got the help (YEAHHHH) you needed! If I weren't so darn busy planning the Farewell Dinner, I would gladly help again! But I know I will be there!

MINInurse! I love the stripes that morph into flames in your signature. I haven't seen the car since you were pushing me out of the mud at MOTD 2006 and I think you had the Dragon stripes on then. Very nice design!

My wife and I will be attending, I don't thing the $15 will stop anyone from showing up, especially when it is for a charity. Charity, beer, minis, dragon, Just shoot me now, it can't get any better!

We all know how much work goes into an event like this, your efforts are all greatly appreciated!

Leif and I are planning on coming! And we'll do so if it's some huge to-do, or if it's just a bunch of people standing around with beer . . . because it's the BEER that attracts me (oh, and fellowship )

Everyone take a step back and breathe -- I thought the first year free-for-all was fun!

This event has been the highlight of both my Dragon trips. No way are we going to let it die!

Oh yeah!
It was incredibly hot, unbelievably crowded, and absurdly loud. Just like keggers in high school, er, I mean college...only with cool people, and good beer. I'd do it all over again.

1. The gentleman who was originally going to coordinate the event in person (since I cannot attend) has now informed me he probably won't be able to make MOTD either. This leaves us without anyone to coordinate the event the night of and I know of no one else I could pull into this.

2. Lack of interest: yes I know it's early but compared to last year and the year before the interest in the Swap appears low.

3. We're near the phase where myself and at least one other person will have to start out of pocket expenses. I don't want to do that if this thing is up in the air or could turn out to be run poorly.

Bottom line is I don't want this thing to be half-assed which is the path it is currently on. I'd rather cancel it and have people throw together an informal Brew Swap, kind of like year one.

If anyone wants to take this event over, completely, then speak up. If there are masses of you out there counting on attending this event speak up now. I'm going to make the decision in the next week. If a coordinator steps up to take it over and/or the masses speak up then maybe we can move it forward. And don't just post that it's a good event and should still be held. I need to hear from people planning to attend and pay the $15 fee.

It's just been a convergence of bad things which has put the Swap in this position. Wish it wasn't so but reality is reality.

***TO ANYONE WHO HAS ORDERED A T-SHIRT, IF THE EVENT IS CANCELLED YOU WILL BE REFUNDED THE ENTIRE AMOUNT YOU PAID IMMEDIATELY AFTER I POST ABOUT THE CANCELLATION***

Mr. Skurvy and I were bummed we missed our first brew swap last year and intended on joining in the festivities this year. I'd offer to help, but I have no clue what I could help with since I'm still figuring out how this all works.

Thank you all for replying and showing your interest in the event.

Mistro has stepped up to run this puppy along with help from Agranger and the other volunteers. I'll still be in the mix aiding where I can and offering guidance.

More details to come. Watch the brew swap website and the forums here.

I promise it wasn't a scare tactic. I just have too much going on (along with the fact that I can't attend this year) to be able to give this the attention it needs.
