Where are you coming from?

I've always wondered where everyone comes from that attends MOTD.
The majority I assume are from the neighboring states, but I have seen license plates from as far as Canada.

Where are you coming from and how long does it take you to get there?

If you're coming to this years MOTD I would really be interested in your
driving adventure and your plans or routes.

See you there...

If you click here you'll see where everyone last year came from

Heading down from Indianapolis... not sure how long it will take (or what day we will be leaving) in the classic, but it will be an adventure. :)

2nd trip from Covington, LA - 615 miles, a little over 9 hours.

kgdblu 01-30-2008 09:32 AM

Maryland, near Annapolis. About 9 hours, most of which is on I66 which is a crashing bore to drive.....

Ditto on coming from Indy- mapquest and google say about 7.5-8 hours via interstate, so I'm expecting a little under 7. Probably coming down Thursday afternoon and return on Saturday.

For a change of pace and scenery you could always take the Blue Ridge Parkway down but I think from Va to NC would be something like 3180 turns in 11 days .
By the time you got to the Dragon I don't think you would want to see another curve, bend or turn ever again.

In any case have a Trooperless and safe trip

Milwaukee.....

Squirlz 01-30-2008 11:53 AM

I'm coming from central Michigan which is about a 9 hour drive but this year I am driving to my parents house in Ocala FL first for my Dad's 84th birthday April 27. The Brother and Sisters will all be there to surprise him. Figured what's another 1200 miles for my family.

BRP has a lower speed limit, I think...I'm so used to I66,and I actually do it in 2 days. I stop in Abingdon, VA. That way I'm not wiped when I get down there...

Hmmm.... there's a possibility of that. Two other options that I am thinking are either from Otto's in State College or Davidson Brothers in Glens Falls, NY.

Most likely Otto's, as I don't think I'll be heading Upstate before MOTD.

My wife's a member of PittStop, but I haven't seen too much info posted on the Caravan (departure time, meeting place etc) unless my head's up my *** - which is a good possibility.

We've got dogs that we have to drop off at 9am Tuesday at the resort (no joke, that's the title of the place) so making to P-burgh for an early departure would be tough.

Meeting with you guys in Erwin would work though.....
