Midnight on the Dragon V
I'll be out there again, but hopefully there will be some better lights mounted on Kabluey this time. I was a little blind driving to the Dragon from Knoxville. When I was following the folks with floodlights on the front, I could see for miles and miles...
heh, heh.
I am, most definitely, there. Being behind Greatbear and all his blinking graphics was cool. The guy behind me with the light bar with four REALLY, REALLY bright yellow driving lights on my tail trying to pass me was not cool. Even still, I'd do it again. Besides marrying my wife, the coolest and scariest thing I have ever done!
These are supposed to be magnetic and you twist 'em to turn the LEDs on.

The company was cool and sent me a couple as a sample a few months ago. They just launched a 10% discount, so I couldn't resist buying an insane number of them for the Midnight on the Dragon 2008!

I'm pondering doing the Midnight Run in my classic (a '92 Mini Sprite), but I know from last year that people go pretty fast...
I'm wondering of anyone else out there wants to do the run in their Mini, but is intimidated by the idea of a modern MINI breathing down their tailpipe? If so, I'd like to propose that we assemble the Classics at the REAR of the procession, basically making up the "caboose" of the run. Anyone that's concerned by the high speeds that some MINI people can achieve during the run (people with small kids, naturally more cautious types) are free to follow the "Cavalcade of Classics" of course...
Any takers? Either way, I plan to park myself at the exit of the Lodge and only drive out after all the other MINIs have blown past me, an I'd love to have other Classic people join me!

but on my last run of the day i passed a Electric Blue "S" w/white roof & a meatball running the other way, so i stopped at the overlook & waited but it started to snow/sleet so i split
I SO wanted to make a midnight run at our first Dragon 'slaying' trip this year...but alas, my wife's best friend is getting married on May 3rd !
Looks like we'll be there early in the week and have to head out friday morning...
Ah, well...maybe I'll do my own Midnight run

Just tell your wife's friend we would love to have a wedding at the end of the run! We'll even let her ride in the lead MINI!

I'm not sure she'd go for that !The good news is that since it starts on wednesday, and we don't have to be home until friday evening, we should be able to get in plenty of runs and meet a few dozen MINIs
