Mike, with the issue about the subchannels that paul! mentioned, you might want to choose a channel not already in use since there are still some available (2, 3, 10-19).

Well, the Rocket City MINI folks will be on Channel 2 sub 07 and since there's like... 5 of us total, we can post it up as an "Alabama Motoring Society" channel

Thanks, Drillslinger! I've been out at a client site all morning. I updated the first post also.

I'm stilling waiting to include Philly Miniacs in hopes that they will reply with an unused channel. If we don't hear back, then I guess we'll just add them in on Channel 5 and hope for the best.

...now back to work!

Prima CC added.

Also, just a reminder to keep in mind the note about the higher channels and the required radio types. Obviously, combined FRS/GMRS radios are your best bet for the most channels.

So I was thinking about - and there have now been requests for - a printed reference card with this information to be handed out with the registration package. I was thinking something like a business card. We'd want to print somewhere between 500-800. Only thing is, I am currently unable to commit to doing this. We'd need to wait until closer to the event to finalize the directory.

Any takers? Any other ideas? If this is going to happen, I encourage anyone else considering a channel to reserve it sooner than later since we may have to set a "closing" date for picking channels.

I would say don't go crazy. Anyone that posts on NAM should have a printer. Just print it out ourselves. Maybe a post on a BB at registration. But to print out 500-600 no way

Keep in mind that with a credit-card sized list, you could fit around 12 per page, so it wouldn't really be 500 or 600 printed out...

Why not at least create a downloadable template. At least it'd be easy to keep up to date and low cost. Perhaps something editable in case people want to make changes to it. If they were done in a format that conforms to a business card size, clubs/groups could buy the sheets of precut heavy bond paper and do them a sheet at a time to hand out.

Ok. Good ideas. How about this?

http://www.pittstopmini.org/docs/Rad...GuideFront.pdf
http://www.pittstopmini.org/docs/Rad...lGuideBack.pdf

It is based on the Avery Business Card template #5371. It would print the Alphabetical listing on one side and the Channel listing on the other. Since this would require 2 passes through the printer, you would not be able to purchase the "clean edge" cards that have a page backing.

Of course, you could also just print onto standard copy paper and cut them out.

Please note, these are for preview only - channel directory has not been "finalized."

See, I was trying to get all spiffy and spent my time thinking of a graphic idea (For someone with artistic talent to finish of course)

Be gentle, all I have to work with here is Paint

Looks great to me. How about highlighting every other one in a light grey to make it easier to read?
