Towin' to the Dragon...
Just wanted people to know that my wife spoke to UHaul today and we got a quote for only $110 to rent full-size trailer for 4 days:
We're planning on driving down in our 1999 Suburban with the MINI in tow (we have 2 kids and were stressing about how we wwere going to fit everything), and this seems like the perfect solution. Becaue this holds the cars flat (unlike a tow dolley which only holds the front wheels) even lowered cars should be transportable. A dolley was $100 for 4 days. so for an extra $10 we'll be going with this solution.
THE CATCH: UHaul has much lower prices for "one way" rentals as opposed to "local" (where you return the unit to the same place as you rented it). So, we'll have to return our trailer to a different UHaul location in our town. No biggie for us with 6 or 7 locations in-town but it might be an issue for anyone from a smaller town, I guess.
The UHaul person she spoke to also advised us that if we got back late, after the return location closed, that it would still count as that business day (in other words, they would not charge us for an extra day if we returned it after they closed). Be sure to get the UHaul person to verifuy this when you get your quote.
Hope this helps some people out!
