The more the merrier, but that is a misnomer. Believe me, we have a tambourine player in my praise band.

Anyone CAN bang out a beat. I stand by that.

Not everyone can bang out an accurate, in-time beat though.

I won't be at the Dragon this year, but I'm glad to see that the Off Topic Band soldiers on, and that a reunion jam is in the works.

He suggested putting the Off Topic Band together, but when his wife became ill, he had to back out of participation.

I took over for him and chose The Tipitina Foundation as the appropriate charity to support, then put it together with sndwave and lotsie. Thanks to all you musicians and the generosity of folks when we passed the hat, our little jam raised about $300 for the Fund!

I saw that Simpsons episode where they have the "spin-off showcase" recently, and noticed where at the beginning of "Wiggum, P.I." (set in New Orleans), Chief Wiggum randomly fires bullets into the Tipitina window. It felt good to have a connection. Thanks for your good work Clo.

A connection via the Simpson's....me likeeee!

The folks at Tipitina's were incredibly gracious and grateful to Maximusmini and me when we delivered the check to them last May.

I encourage folks to bring their acoustic instruments to come jam on the Porch after the Welcome Dinner, and alongside the Cigar Sampling Salon. I'll be whipping up some special donation vessels, one designated for United Cerebral Palsy and the other for Tipitina's Foundation.

Any room for a traditional/modern country vocalist? If yes, count me in

Vocalists have it easy - we take our instruments everywhere we go!

LOL! That's where I actually got my handle/email address - friends started calling me "Pamalalala" years ago because of my singing and it has been a great online name - people love to let loose with the "la's" LOL!!

Thank you for the warm welcome!

So it is still on

I really do need a Dragon break .I haven't had time to look at the stuff that is going on at the Dragon this year. But I had heard that this event was off. But now I see we go people that want to do it. So I will bring my sticks and I will try to bring drums or part of them.
Louispup what are you bringing this year or are you?

I must say that was the most fun I had at the Dragon. I dont' get to play music very much these day but I love to jam. I can't wait.

We, of the Cigar Salon, are inviting y'all to hang out with us on the porch after the Welcome Dinner, to improvise to your hearts' content, while we huff and puff like last year.

When in doubt, PM me, silly! Yes, we invited anyone who would like to jam to join us on The Porch after the Welcome Dinner during the Cigar Sampling Salon. The musicians can congregate away from the smoke, and the smokers can provide a mellow audience.

We do ask that it be acoustic, since we will be sitting there visiting. Think of it as sort of an impromptu smoky jazz club!

It will be great to see you again!

Ok I'm so ready to jam

Well here is a update. This year I will be bringing a Porable drum set and some other goodies with me, that is if Musiciansfriend.com can get it here by then.
That's right!! New stuff!! My drum set I have now just will not fit in the MINI, so I came up with something smaller.

BE there to see what it is!!!

I'm trying to imagine a MINI with a drum set in it. Of course I have only seen and helped set up a large set that barely fit in a van! I will have to check it out. Can't wait to listen again..makes me wish I could play something still.

If you bring a laptop and a set of decent speakers, you can put this dum kit in your glove box. :thumbsp:

Pshaw, I load up a decent sized kit 4-5 times a year. I haven't taken pictures, but the MINI is very friendly for taking lots of toys.

Why not just bring a drum machine? Magic, I look forward to hearing your new set-up.

Well, I, for one, cannot wait to hear you guys [and gals] jam! You sure were great last year, and it's something that goes well with the Cigar Salon and the general ambiance of our first night at the Dragon!
