Headroom issues in the new car
I just stopped by the dealership and took a test drive in the 4th gen mini. The car felt pretty good. The one glaring problem was headroom. It had about half an inch less headroom than an F56.
I normally put my seat all the way down, the back reasonably upright, and the slider a few clicks from fully back. That lets me straighten my legs behind the pedals when I need to stretch and puts my wrists at the top of the steering wheel when I stretch out my arms.
At the dealership, I sat in an F56 JCS with non-JCW seats and a sunroof and had about half an inch of headroom with the seat all the way down. My hair touches the roof but my head does not. This is the normal amount for me in a sunroof Mini. Then, I sat in the new car with the iconic package and non-JCW seats and my head was pressed hard against the crossbar that goes between the front and rear sunroof in my normal seating position. The seat was pumped all the way down. My hips felt higher in the car than in the F56 I had just gotten out of too.
I normally order my minis with no sunroof for the extra inch of headroom. I was surprised to hear that the sunroof delete was not an option on the first year and possibly second year cars. Does anyone have information on sunroof deletes or if other seats have more height adjustability?

6'5" with a 32" inseam. I have a tall torso.
A quick google says that headroom went from 40.3" (I assume this is no sunroof) or 38.6" in the F56 to 38.3" in the F66. I sat in two cars with sunroofs back to back and adjust the seat as far down as it would go. That difference roughly matches what I felt. I was hoping there was a seat option with more adjustment or less bottom padding or a sunroof delete that would get some of that room back.
