you are worried about costs for registration and food at the Dragon?

I just tried to add up the bill for the mods being done at the dragon and I am probably over $1500!

the bar tab (yes the back of my MINI will be a full bar this year, not making the same mistake I did last year!) will probably be just as bad Edge can put away some drink, I have to make sure there is enough for him.....

"...some were made NOT to go"... I betcha $10 that the "5 fingers of death" is in there somewhere.

I'm totally jealous that you guys have the Dragon event. I'm only a few miles away but can't attend (we'll call it 4900 miles from Kaneohe, Hawaii to Robbinsville, NC). Sounds like it's going to be an absolute blast though. Can't wait to see the pictures and videos.

When I looked into flying my MINI to the Bahamas for a vacation, I realized the Dragon event was quite reasonable in comparison....

Honestly, the cost of the Dragon is quite cheap compared to just about any 'typical' long weekend-type vacation excursion. Well, it is if you factor out (in my case at least) the cost of pre-Dragon mods and goodies and what not.

The '20 dollar hamburger' makes for conversation topics for those tired of talking about MINIs.

I work for Hard Rock International Development - you are paying to be in the presence of Rock artists memorabilia which costs millions of dollars and our hamburgers still aren't $20.

You are forgetting two things:
  1. This is a buffet, not just a "one is all you get" burger.
  2. This is in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE effectively, and setting up a catered meal is NOT cheap.
Things aren't as simple as they first seem.

EDIT: There are also other benefits of coming that have absolutely nothing to do with the food itself nor the company (although the company is fantastic too! )

Do you really? Seriously? Because there's a Hard Rock somewhere that has Jim Morrison's leather pants -- I need to know which one, so I can make an appropriate pilgrimage...

More on topic -- included in the cost of the $20 burger is some kickass company

Well, yeah, but being at the Dragon puts one in the presence of people who truly Rock.

I am extremely greatful that a few folks got together to organize this. To this I say, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. And I don't even like Hamburgers that much, I prefer Stuttgarters.

Good thing, food's not so hot

Again folks, it's a buffett, not a single burger. Although even if it were a $20 burger I WOULD HAVE NO ROOM TO COMPLAIN, since I bought a $32,000 car that's smaller than a Kia Rio that's only $8,500. Frugal I ain't.
