The bedding in procedure for some brake pads don't even want you coming to a complete stop while the pads are engaged (ie: you can coast to a stop, but don't use your brakes to stop completely). That's why they have you go from 60 to 20 MPH repeatedly... not 60 to 0 MPH. It's something with freezing (or baking) the brake pad to the rotor, I think
Also; I still keep my DSC on, even though I'm a "Dragon Vet". It's definitely not a race, and the very little bit the DSC intrudes on the Dragon is worth the safety measure. The Dragon isn't like other roads, it's banked and smooth, so DSC doesn't get activated unless you need it. Be smart and keep it on. Nobody wants to go home in a rental with your MINI on a flatbed.
Brakes...At the end of a run, if I choose to park and the brakes are still way hot. I pull out that nice little wheel chock that comes with your Mini. No need for parking brake, just make sure you put it on the down hill side
and leave it in gear.
